Chapter 1

The mysterious necklace and the white witch Thine

Aesthine Rose

I always believed that magic was for me. My parents were mercenaries and they want me to be one too. I knew that magic was my thing when I found a mysterious object; a bright crystalline blue necklace was hidden at the end of Flaris. I found it recently when I hovered my dragon broom to Leren Mountains.

I was stunned by its beauty; I grabbed it and put it in my bag. I never let someone see it until I met Nhia.

I was walking idly at the middle of the arena that day when we became friends. She stopped her boyfriend who was about to kill me.

Ringmasters are priests associated with a little magic. Nhia was a skilled ringmaster. She just reached level A with the help of her snob boyfriend.

I became best friends with Nhia. I told her my secrets and revealed the necklace to her.

“You know, I read about a necklace similar to yours. I found it at the back of the SM library.” She said while examining the necklace. We were at my house so we can talk freely about it.

“Really?” I got excited.

“There’s been a story about a white witch named Thine. She was exiled because she practiced an ancient spell. The spell was focused in increasing the target’s power and abilities. The former leaders of that time thought she was going to use that power to invade Madrigal so they exiled her.”

“What happened to her?”

“She completed her spell without anyone of the leaders knowing. She transferred that power to the necklace you’re holding now.”

“How did you know that? I thought nobody knew what happened to her?”

“It’s because she was friends with my great grandmother. Thine’s best friend was my great grandmother Diminia. My grandmother was a white witch too but she never attempts to do the spell Thine did.”

“Why?”

“White witches are servants of law and order. They are never allowed to practice unknown spells and make spells.”

“I see…”

Nhia and I went back to the arena to meet up with Yunno, her boyfriend.

“Hello my sweet.” He kissed Nhia at the cheek. I giggled at their sweetness.

“You two sure are sweeter than sugar.” I smiled.

“Then go get yourself a boyfriend, Aesthine, if you want to experience this too.” Yunno joked. He was cold to me before but his coldness wore off after seeing my oh-so charming smile.

“No thanks, I have more important things to take care of.” I left them and went to Darken.
